Excursions & Activities

This program offers an exciting blend of academic site visits, cultural immersion, and community-building experiences. Students will explore key aspects of local water infrastructure through multiple excursions to wastewater treatment plants and drinking water facilities, gaining a firsthand understanding of regional systems and sustainability efforts. Each site visit is designed to connect directly with course content, offering real-world insight into environmental engineering and water resource management.

In previous years, the program explored facilities such as the Dulces Nombres Plant and Urban Wastewater Treatment Plant, as well as the drinking water distribution and wastewater collection systems of Monterrey. Other past highlights included a visit to the Tequila Sauza Manufacturing Plant and a community water study in the Calle de los Molinos neighborhood of Guadalajara.

Beyond academics, the program also celebrates the rich cultural life of the region. Students in past cohorts have visited iconic locations such as Fundidora Park, Paseo Santa Lucía, and the vibrant Barrio Antiguo. Cultural activities like traditional dance lessons, guided city walks, and shared meals provide opportunities to experience local traditions. Team-building events and group excursions are thoughtfully planned to create a strong sense of community and lasting memories!
