Accommodations
You will be staying in a beautiful student residence hall located in a trendy part of the city near the university. In the residence you will share a double room and private bathroom. You will have access to a kitchen and common areas for relaxing. On site laundry in available for a small fee.
UC Davis reserves the right to change the accommodation location. Should this be necessary, we will arrange alternative lodging. Please note that elevators, air conditioners and other modern conveniences may not be available in all locations.
Meals
You will have access to the shared kitchen in the residence hall. In addition, options to eat out are readily available. Argentina is world-famous for its Asado (or BBQ) and high red meat consumption, but in recent years plentiful vegetarian options have been popping up as well.
Excursions & Activities
Short excursions and day trips will be included as part of the program. There will be no shortage of things to do and explore in Buenos Aires and nearby areas of Argentina.
Examples of excursions included in the program are day trips to:
- Puerto Madero
- A traditional estancia
- More optional excursions will be provided!
Get to Know Your Destination
Students go to Buenos Aires for the urban experience, the rich cultural life, the inexpensive and excellent food, and the very active nightlife. Alternatively called “the city that never sleeps” or “the Paris of Latin America”, Buenos Aires is a cosmopolitan and diverse metropolis (ten million inhabitants at least) that merges the European and the Latin American traditions.
There are a number of websites posted by young Americans living in Buenos Aires which can give you an idea of the richness of cultural offerings (film festivals, museums, street fairs, music festivals, amazing restaurants, rock and roll in Spanish, soccer events, etc.). If you like cities, you may never want to leave this one!

Study Abroad Advisory of Student Risk
Participation in this UC Davis Study Abroad program requires travel to and extended living in a foreign location(s) abroad. UC Davis Study Abroad endeavors to reduce and mitigate risk wherever possible. However, the environments and risks associated with living in these locations are substantially different than those found during a regular course of study at UC Davis. All participants must download and review the following information prior to departure. Any questions should be directed to the Program Coordinator.
