Bangkok Bound: A Journey of Climate Resilience and Cultural Immersion

Global Engagement Opportunity-Living and Learning (GEO-LLC) Peer Ambassador—Now Hiring

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​As a GEO-LLC Peer Ambassador, you will help generate interest and enthusiasm about global learning opportunities for both international and domestic students residing in the GEO-LLC and support community-building cooking events in the GEO-LLC Global Kitchen. Deadline: July 14.

National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) Summer Program

Join the NTHU Summer Program from August 11-18, to discuss the importance of energy futures in the era of globalization and examine the future development and challenges of Taiwan. The program costs $1,400 for UC Davis students, which includes courses, housing and a cultural trip. Deadline: July 15.

United Nations (UN) Academic Impact Internships

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​This internship is an opportunity to support the UN’s goals and mandates—including the protection of human rights, access to education, sustainability and conflict resolution. Internships are full-time for two-six months. Opportunities are unpaid and available at different locations around the world. View current opportunities.

Competitions, Challenges, and Funding

German Parliament’s International Parliamentary Scholarship (IPS)

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The IPS program gives participants first-hand knowledge of Germany’s parliamentary system and political decision-making process during a three-month internship with a member of the German parliament. Open to college graduates who are U.S. citizens, under 30 and have good knowledge (B2+) of the German language. Deadline: July 31.

Fulbright U.S. Student Program

This program offers annual awards for U.S. citizens who will have bachelor’s degrees by the 2024-25 academic year to conduct research, study or teach English in over 140 countries worldwide. Learn more about eligibility, timeline and requirements. Deadline: September 10.

Schwarzman Scholars

Receive a full scholarship for a one-year graduate program (M.A. in Global Affairs) at Schwarzman College of Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. Scholars will study and live at Schwarzman College and partake in a core curriculum focusing on public policy, economics and business or international relations. Deadline: September 12.

China-U.S. Scholars Program Grants for Conference Participation and Research

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​This grant supports travel to conferences and research sites and is open to scholars and students in the arts, humanities and social sciences. Conference presentations and research travel should relate to China studies and/or China-U.S. relations. Deadline: October 31.

UC Davis Study Abroad Photo Contest

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The annual UC Davis Study Abroad Photo Contest recognizes and celebrates student photography taking place on the many study abroad programs offered throughout the year. The deadline to submit photos is in early fall quarter, but we encourage students to submit their favorite photos on a rolling basis as programs conclude. Top prizes (for all winners and finalists): gift cards ranging from $25-$200!

Celebration of Mandela Day

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​July 18, 7–8:30 p.m., International House Davis. Join International House Davis and UC Davis Global Affairs for a birthday celebration and community conversation to commemorate Nelson Mandela’s birthday and legacy on Mandela Day 2024. The event will feature TED-style talks by UC Davis Mandela Washington Fellows visiting from Sub-Saharan Africa. RSVP.
