Global Aggies Blog: Understanding Local and Refugee Experiences: Venezuelan Displacement in Northern Brazil

Program Spotlight: Perspectives in Global Management

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Earn eight units in four weeks while exploring global management in Edinburgh, U.K. Study how firms innovate, distribute globally and navigate trade dynamics. Experience supply chain management firsthand at ports, delve into the International Standards organization, and visit key cities like Edinburgh, Glasgow and London—including a visit to Bloomberg.

University of California Education Abroad Program (UCEAP)

UCEAP Virtual Study Abroad Fair—October 23

UCEAP Peace Corps Prep Program

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Peace Corps Prep is a free certificate program to help you develop the skills and experience to become a highly competitive applicant for the Peace Corps and prepare for a career in international development, public service or the NGO sector. Register. Info Session: October 16.

Global Affairs Pal Program

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Pal Program pairs up UC Davis undergraduate students for intercultural conversation experiences. Participants can use weekly one-hour sessions to increase their intercultural awareness, practice a target language and develop friendships. Register. Deadline: October 14.

Universitas 21 (U21) Sustainable Micro-Internships

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The U21 Sustainable Micro-Internships Program is a free, virtual, two-week project-based internship for undergrad and grad students. Work with students from across the globe, sharing knowledge and expertise while providing solutions to a challenge related to one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Apply. UC Davis Global Learning Conference – Showcase Opportunity

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The Global Learning Hub be host the Global Learning Conference on Saturday, April 5, 2025. During the conference, individual students’ global learning experiences will be highlighted through posters to showcase the variety of global learning opportunities available at UC Davis. UC Davis Ted Bradshaw Engaged Student Scholars Program

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​This UC Davis Center for Regional Change program connects students with faculty and diverse leaders from government, business, nonprofit and philanthropic sectors to address real-world problems using research and data. Deadline: November 3.

DAAD Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE) Scholars

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The RISE program offers undergraduates in the fields of biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering, earth sciences and physics the opportunity to complete a funded summer research internship at top German universities and research institutions. Receive a monthly stipend for three months to help cover living expenses. Apply beginning on October 15. Deadline: November 30.

LeadNext: Ambassadors for a Global Future

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​LeadNext builds a network of future leaders aged 18-25 and supports their growth, impact and capacity to address today’s greatest challenges. Fellows will strengthen leadership skills and gain in-depth knowledge of critical challenges facing Asia and the globe through trainings, expert-led masterclasses and a Global Leaders Summit. Deadline Extended: October 16.

Technical University of Munich (TUM) PREP Summer Research Internship

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Together with TUM scientists, TUM PREP students work in small research teams on a research project. The program includes accommodations support, a €1,000 scholarship, orientation and framework program, TUM buddies program and orientation. Deadline: November 24.

Douglass-O'Connell Global Internship

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​On this eight-week summer internship program in Dublin, Ireland, participants will expand their understanding of Irish history and culture while gaining work experience. Intern with a host company and complete a six-credit internship seminar. Participants will receive a fellowship award that covers the full program cost, airfare and a living stipend. Apply. Competitions, Challenges, and Funding

Gilman International Scholarship Program

The Gilman Scholarship provides up to $5,000 for Federal Pell Grant recipients to participate in international study abroad and internship programs. Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MIIS)

Earn a master’s degree from MIIS and advance your global career! Programs include policy analysis and implementation, trade, international development, international education, global security, environmental sustainability and more. UC students who participated in a global program receive 25% tuition scholarships and an application fee waiver. Upcoming info sessions.

Payne International Development Graduate Fellowship

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​$104,000 is available towards a two-year master’s degree in preparation for entry to the U.S. Foreign Service Agency for International Development (USAID). The program includes mentorship, two paid summer internships and USAID employment. Applicants must be college seniors or graduates who are U.S. citizens. Deadline: October 24.

Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Awards are available for up to $25,000 in stipend support, as well as half of the required tuition and fees, up to $20,000 per year, for one-to-two years of graduate education. Applicants must be aged 30 or younger and be “New Americans.” Deadline: October 31.

Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​CLS is a fully funded 8-10-week summer overseas language and cultural immersion program for American undergraduate and graduate students. Eligible languages: Arabic, Azerbaijani, Chinese, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Portuguese, Russian, Swahili, Turkish and Urdu. Apply. Deadline: November 19.

Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Spark—Virtual Opportunity

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​CLS Spark is a virtual program for U.S. undergraduate citizens to learn Arabic, Chinese or Russian through online classes and activities facilitated by native speakers at a host institution abroad. Scholars will also receive an official language proficiency designation via ACTFL OPI testing. Apply. Deadline: November 19.

China-U.S. Scholars Program Grants for Conference Participation and Research

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​This grant supports travel to conferences and research sites and is open to scholars and students in the arts, humanities and social sciences. Conference presentations and research travel should relate to China studies and/or China-U.S. relations. Deadline: October 31.

UC Harry S. Truman Scholarship (Webinar)

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​October 15, 12–1 p.m., virtual. The Truman Scholarship seeks future public service leaders and provides $30,000 towards graduate education, networking and leadership development, and a Washington D.C. internship. This webinar will cover program information, the application process and key deadlines. Register.

U.S Passport Grant Program (Info Session)

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​October 16, 4–5 p.m., Zoom. The U.S. Passport Grant Program covers the cost of one Adult U.S. Passport Book. In Fall 2024, the program will award 100 passports to UC Davis undergraduate students. Join the Global Learning Hub and the UC Davis Business Center to learn more about eligibility requirements, application process, required documents, and program timeline. Register.

11th Annual UC Davis One Health Symposium

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​October 19, 9 a.m.–5 p.m., UC Davis ARC Ballroom. This year's theme: “Migration & One Health Solutions.” Join us for a day filled with insightful discussions and networking opportunities. United Nations Day Celebration 2024: Taking Action on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Davis

Connect with Rwanda: One Health for a More Sustainable World (Info Session)

Learn about this Summer 2025 program in Rwanda, where you will engage with community organizations, meet local companies, work closely with a faculty member from UC Davis, and have cultural experiences centered on the topics of “One Health” and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
