Submit your application to reserve your spot in a UC Davis Summer Abroad, Quarter Abroad, Summer Abroad Internship or Virtual Internship program. Program Spotlight: Climate Resilience in Thailand
Discover why Bangkok is called the "Venice of the East." Earn 6 units in three weeks and explore how Thai water culture influences city design, from traditional building techniques to modern strategies. Enjoy kayaking through klongs, urban agriculture tours and vibrant cultural activities while uncovering insights into climate resilience and water management.
University of California Education Abroad Program (UCEAP)
2025-2026 UCEAP programs applications are now open. Application open dates and deadlines vary by program, beginning in winter quarter. UCEAP programs offer UC credit and financial aid. Program options include immersion, special focus, language and culture and internships. Find a program.
UC Davis Study Abroad Awards
The Global Learning Hub is offering financial awards for UC Davis students. Study Abroad Award applications are available in your UC Davis Study Abroad Application Portal once you’ve been saved a spot on a summer or fall 2025 program. Summer Abroad Financial Aid Estimator is Now Available
The Summer Abroad Financial Aid Estimator includes all 2025 UC Davis Summer Abroad, UC Davis Summer Abroad Internships and Virtual Summer Internships programs. Use the estimator to receive an immediate aid estimate. Financial Aid questions should be directed to the Financial Aid office through Contact an Expert.
UCEAP Global Scholarship
To make study abroad accessible to all UC students, UCEAP offers up to $1 million annually through the Global Scholarship. The scholarships range from $1,000 for summer to $2,000 for fall, spring or academic year programs. Over 500 students will be selected for a Global Scholarship. UCEAP Scholarship Applications open January 15, 2025 for 2025-26 programs.

Global Leadership, Internships, and Research
Connect with Rwanda: One Health for a More Sustainable World
Travel to Rwanda in June 2025 with a small cohort of students and a UC Davis faculty member to examine One Health issues in the context of sustainable development. All selected participants will receive a generous scholarship. Open to undergraduate students of all majors. Apply. Deadline: February 6.
UC Davis Widening Circles Program
The UC Davis Widening Circles program is a fully-funded program that provides UC Davis students the opportunity to engage in an online curriculum focused on ethical global engagement and social change while paired with an Omprakash mentor to support their journey throughout the program. Apply. Deadline: March 16.
Global Ambassador Mentorship Program Mentor Fellows
Become a mentor fellow and provide mentorship and friendship to incoming international students, develop programming, build leadership and career skills, and contribute to the global community at UC Davis. Participants are eligible for a $500 payment. Info Session: January 23. Apply. Deadline: February 2.
Taiwan International Internship Program (TIIP) at Academia Sinica
TIIP is a pre-doctoral research training program that prepares students to excel in their research journeys. Research projects available on-site in a variety of STEM fields. Stipend to help support living and airfare costs. Deadline: January 15.
ISTernship Summer Program
Develop research skills in an interdisciplinary research institute in Austria for 2-3 months through the ISTernship fellowship. Projects are available in biology, computer science, data science and scientific computing, mathematics, physics, neuroscience, chemistry and materials, and interdisciplinary areas. Monthly compensation and access to subsidized housing included. Deadline: February 1.
United Nations Volunteers Program
Through the Online Volunteering service of the United Nations Volunteers program, you can connect with UN entities, governments, public institutions and civil society organizations. Opportunities are for up to 20 hours per week and are available throughout the year.
Competitions, Challenges, and Funding
Global Aggies Award for LGBTQIA+ Rights
This award supports UC Davis student global learning and engagement regarding the issues that LGBTQIA+ communities and individuals face around the world. This includes research or creative work, internships/externships or other projects that advance the rights and/or well-being of LGBTQIA+ people globally. Awards up to $2,500. Deadline: February 26.
International Contest for Minority Artists 2025
The 2025 International Contest for Minority Artists explores the intersection of belonging, place and loss, focusing on minority rights, environmental justice and climate change. Artists are invited to submit work addressing these themes, highlighting minority experiences of cultural loss, environmental racism and resilience. Deadline: March 1.
David L. Boren Scholarship
Learn about the David L. Boren Scholarship, which provides students up to $25,000 to study abroad in Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Middle East and incorporates intensive language study of less commonly taught languages (here is a list of preferred overseas locations). Deadline: January 21.
Donald A. Strauss Scholarship
Scholarships of $15,000 are available to sophomore and junior-level students to implement year-length public service projects in local, national or international communities. Recipients implement a sustainable public service project anywhere in the world. Deadline: January 27.
Fulbright U.S. – U.K. Summer Institutes
Full funding for three to four-week summer programs at six locations in the United Kingdom. Each institute is focused on a specific topic. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, aged 18 or older, have GPAs of 3.6 or greater and have two or more undergraduate years remaining after the program. Deadline: February 3.
Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Summer Enrichment Program
Fully funded undergraduate summer program at Howard University in Washington, D.C. to prepare for careers in international affairs. Applicants must be U.S. citizens in their sophomore years, or above, with GPAs of 3.2 or greater. Deadline: February 5.
Gilman International Scholarship Program
The Gilman Scholarship provides up to $5,000 for Federal Pell Grant recipients to participate in international study abroad and internship programs. Learn about the eligibility requirements, application process and how to become a competitive applicant (Info Sessions: January 30 or February 5) (Essay workshop: February 11). Application opens mid-January.
U.S. Teaching Assistantship Program (USTA) in Austria
USTA fellows will receive a stipend and medical insurance to teach English beginning October 1, 2025, at secondary schools throughout Austria. Applicants must be U.S. citizens who hold bachelor’s degrees by the start of the program. Deadline: January 15.
Teaching Assistant Program in France (TAPIF)
TAPIF fellows receive a monthly stipend to teach for seven months in France. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and permanent residents, aged 20-35, with a bachelor’s degree by the program start, and who speak French at B1 level or above. Deadline: February 28.

Study, Intern, and Research opportunities in Germany through DAAD Academic Exchange Service
January 21, 11 a.m.–12 p.m. International Center 3119. Learn about funding opportunities for study, internships or research in Germany for undergraduate and graduate students. Opportunities include the funded Research Internships in Science and Engineering, funding to pursue an MA in Germany or opportunities through the Gilman-DAAD funding. German is not required for most programs.
Opening Reception for a New Exhibition: Visual Journals 2010-2024
January 22, 4-6 p.m., International Center Lobby. Join us for the opening of an engaging exhibition that brings together visual journals belonging to students who participated in the UC Davis Design study abroad program, which runs from January 21 through April 25 at the UC Davis Design Museum and the International Center Lobby. Register.
Aggies Leading the Way: Undergraduate Leadership Conference
January 25, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., UC Davis Conference Center. This annual full-day event is free for all undergraduate students of all majors. With workshops, keynote speakers and networking opportunities, the event brings together students interested in leadership who aim to make a difference in their academic and social communities. UC Davis Alumni Careers & Identity Conference
February 8, 8:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m., Walter A. Buehler Alumni Center. Open to current students and alumni, this in-person conference at UC Davis is designed to help you grow professionally and personally. This dynamic event is filled with valuable insights, interactive breakout sessions, and ample networking opportunities focused on key topics at the intersection of career and identity. Register. UC Davis Global Learning Conference—Registration Now Open
April 5, 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., International Center. This conference provides learning opportunities to articulate and market your global perspective/experience, network, develop your resume and cover letter, learn from seasoned professionals in various fields, connect with peers and explore resources and opportunities for your future.
