The UC Davis Global Career Development Series is an ongoing event series hosted by the Global Learning Hub and our partners with the purpose of providing all students with additional global professional development resources and opportunities. This series will feature workshops, info sessions, panels, and webinars with a particular focus on global career development. Events are open to all. Career Opportunities in the U.S. Foreign Service & International Development

Peace corps sends US citizens to over 60 countries that have requested help and we work at a grass-roots level in local communities for 27 months. We work in areas such as: education, environment, health, agriculture and development. How Graduate School Can Boost Your Global Career: Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MIIS) Spotlight
Did you know that international education is a field that you can study at graduate school? Hear from MIIS students and alumni to learn about why they selected their global grad program, and explore their career interests in the international/global field. MIIS offers in-person and virtual globally-focused graduate degrees. UC Davis students who have participated on global programs are eligible for a $10,000 automatic scholarship. Teach English in Spain!
The North American Language and Culture Assistants Program (NALCAP) is an educational outreach initiative of the Spanish Ministry of Education through the Education Office of the Embassy of Spain. NALCAP offers grants to American college students and graduates, who are native speakers of English, with the opportunity to be an English teaching assistant (TA). Once in Spain, students will partner with elementary and secondary schools to provide backing to language programs as TAs under the supervision and guidance of teachers of English as a World/Foreign Language. Positions are offered all across Spain—running from October 1 – May 31 for most assignments. NALCAP recipients receive a monthly stipend to cover living expenses of 700–1000 euros and medical insurance. Watch on YouTube.

Build Your Global Professional Brand Through LinkedIn
In this workshop, you will learn how and why to create a LinkedIn profile that brings your global experiences and personal career story to life. This session will offer specific tips on tailoring each section of your profile, and will particularly highlight ways to make your global transferable skills more prominent for potential employers. Ellison will share specific examples of profile phrases and languages that will help you build or enhance your profile. Join this online demo with the president and founder of GoinGlobal to learn how this unique tool can enhance and support your career pursuits across town and around the world. The one-hour training will cover how to navigate the millions of global internship and job postings in the GoinGlobal database and will demo other career development resources. We will learn how to find online and remote opportunities and explore GoinGlobal’s constantly updated country and city career guides featuring information such as professional networking groups, country-specific resume guidelines, interview and cultural advice, industry trends and more! Peace Corps—Helping You Prepare for Your Global Professional Future
Peace corps sends US citizens to over 60 countries that have requested help and we work at a grass-roots level in local communities for 27 months. We work in areas such as: education, environment, health, agriculture and development. Volunteers receive transportation to and from the country, monthly living stipend, vacation and health benefits and significant training. After serving in the Peace Corps, volunteers receive a readjustment allowance of over $9,000, lifetime eligibility for certain graduate school fellowships and one year of preferential hiring for federal positions, but most importantly, they have received a life changing experience that develops leadership skills and opens doors professionally and academically.
