​​New Summer Sessions Courses and Revamped Minor to Support Students as Global Change Makers

In pursuit of Global Education for All UC Davis students, we're offering two Summer Sessions classes this summer and a revamped Global Studies minor starting this fall. Both programs are open to undergrad students from all majors and are focused on supporting students as global thinkers and change-makers.

University Global Coalition Annual Gathering – Call for Proposals

The University Global Coalition is accepting proposals for their annual gathering on September 27-28, 2021, to lead 45-minute virtual sessions on teaching, research, operational practices, and partnerships (within and beyond) higher education. The 2021 theme is Building Connections and Actions for the SDGs. Deadline: June 25.

Handshake is where UC Davis students and alumni connect with employers. To search for all available internship opportunities: log in, select “Jobs” from the tool bar, use the “Filter” button, and then select “Internships.” You can also find remote positions and global opportunities under Filters → Labeled by Your School.​​​​​​​

UC Davis is subscribed to the GoinGlobal database of millions of global internships and jobs around the world, including remote positions. Search career fields by country, global city, and U.S. city for place-specific employment resources. Log in with your Kerberos to explore jobs and resources.

Humboldt Research Internship Program

UC Davis has a partnership with the Humboldt Internship Program in Berlin for advanced undergrad, grad, and Ph.D. students to complete research internships. Many internships can be conducted online or in-person with flexible start dates. Current projects are available in physics, product design, software engineering, social media, and web app development.

Seed Central and SeedQuest Job Resources

UC Davis is a world leader in seed, plant, and agricultural sciences, but the influence of UC Davis extends far beyond. Seed Central is an initiative by a growing number of companies and organizations in the global seed and ag biotech industry. Search SeedQuest for global seed careers around the world.

Project Green Virtual Course

August 31–December 16. Join Turning Green’s new virtual course for students from all majors. This free not-for-credit course connects in real time and students will interact with a global cohort of emerging student leaders and implement a funded climate action project with fellow students. Deadline: June 27.

Competitions, Challenges, and Funding

Middlebury Institute of International Studies UC Global Alumni Scholarship

Guaranteed $10,000 scholarships for an on-site master’s degree program are available to alumni from any UC who participated in a global program—including study abroad, global internships, global research, etc. Over 10 M.A., M.B.A., M.P.A., or joint programs are available, including International Policy and Development, International Education Management, and Teaching Foreign Language.

Start-Up Grants for Collaborative Digital Editions

With funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the National Historical Publications and Records Commission of the National Archives is accepting start-up grant proposals for digital editions in African American, Asian American, Hispanic American, and Native American History. Deadline: June 9.

Schwarzman Scholarship

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​A fully-funded, 11-month master’s program in Global Affairs at Beijing’s Tsinghua University. Schwarzman Scholars prepares young leaders for a globally interconnected future. For students and young professionals of all nationalities who are 18-28, proficient in English, and have an undergrad degree. Virtual Info Sessions: June 17 and 29. U.S./Global Application Deadline: September 21.

Fulbright U.S. Student Program

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​2,000 annual awards for U.S. citizens are available to conduct research, study, or teach English in over 140 countries worldwide. Participants receive round trip airfare to their destination, a monthly stipend, and limited health insurance. 2022-23 application. Campus Deadline: September 8 (study/research), September 15 (teach English).

Global Career Development Series: How Graduate School Can Boost Your Global Career

Hear from Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MIIS) students to learn why they selected their grad program and explore their career interests in the international/global education field. MIIS offers in person and virtual globally-focused programs. UC Davis students can receive an automatic $10,000 scholarship. Register.
