Excursions & Activities
In Dublin, students will visit the National Library, Trinity College & the Book of Kells, the Irish Emigrant Museum, along with various other walking and literary tours. To expand their studies beyond one location, students will also venture to Belfast and Derry in Northern Ireland (UK) to tour the Peace Wall and the Museum of Free Derry. While in Northern Ireland, students will enjoy a day of free time to explore the sights on their own as well. Geographically, Ireland offers accessible opportunities to explore how social justice movements occurred at the same time across different spaces and impacted different communities.
Please note: These excursions and activities are tentative and subject to change.
Get to Know Your Destination
From Lonely Planet Ireland: “A small island with a memorable punch, Ireland's breathtaking landscapes and friendly, welcoming people leave visitors floored. You'll want to go back for more.”
Study Abroad Advisory of Student Risk
Participation in this UC Davis Study Abroad program requires travel to and extended living in a foreign location(s) abroad. UC Davis Study Abroad endeavors to reduce and mitigate risk wherever possible. However, the environments and risks associated with living in these locations are substantially different than those found during a regular course of study at UC Davis. All participants must download and review the following information prior to departure. Any questions should be directed to the program coordinator.
