UCEAP is the UC System’s study abroad program, offering immersive experiences at top universities worldwide. Spend a quarter, semester, summer or year exploring new cultures, learning languages, doing research or interning- while earning UC credit, gaining valuable professional training and becoming globally conscious.
UCEAP offers UC students study abroad opportunities in:
- 40+ countries around the world;
- 170 Summer, Quarter, Semester, and Year-long program options.
- Choosing a Program
With so many program options, it is easy to feel overwhelmed. To help narrow down your choices, start by focusing on your personal and academic goals. Keep these priorities in mind as you explore different programs. Here are some helpful questions to guide your search:
- What are your academic goals while abroad?
- Are you hoping to fulfill major requirements, general education credits, pursue personal interests—or all of the above?
- Do you speak another language you'd like to improve, or are you interested in learning a new one?
- How long do you want to study abroad? Consider whether a summer, quarter, semester, or year-long program works best for you.
- What kind of classroom experience do you prefer?
- Would you feel more comfortable in a UC cohort, or are you open to taking classes directly at a foreign university?
- Are you interested in a program that focuses on an internship or research?
NEXT STEPS- Explore programs that align with your goals by visiting the UCEAP website.
- Use filters on the Find a Program page to search by location, academic subject, experience type, or term.
- Have a backup program in mind in case your first choice program fills quickly. You don’t need to apply to your backup, but it’s wise to be prepared in case your first choice fills up.
