Animal and Veterinary Science internship placements are offered in a variety of areas. Students gain hands-on experience aligned with their personal, professional, and academic goals. International work experience is a great way to set yourself apart in today’s global job market and make valuable professional connections.
During these programs, students intern 25-40 hours per week and receive a total of 6-8 quarter units, which includes two units for an online course that provides students the space to reflect on their experiences with a UC Davis instructor. Students will have the opportunity to receive transcript notation.
Australia - Animal and Zoological Management
Gain first-hand experience working in wildlife handling and care at a wildlife conservation center and zoo internship at a zoo.
Costa Rica - Wildlife, Conservation, and Veterinary Medicine
Intern for four weeks with hands-on experience at a wildlife rescue center.
South Africa - Animal and Zoological Management
Gain first-hand experience in wildlife handling and care, spending two weeks at Lory Park Animal Sanctuary and 2 weeks at Cango Wildlife Ranch.
Thailand - Wildlife, Conservation, and Veterinary Medicine
Live in both city and rural settings and explore Thai culture while learning hands-on veterinary, conservation, and animal science skills.
