Accommodations
Enjoy the comforts of a UCD to UCD stay. UC Davis and University College Dublin have a long-standing global partnership, which offers students the familiarity of a college campus while living abroad. Students live in shared apartments on the University College Dublin campus while in Dublin, where students have their own rooms with ensuite bathroom/shower and shared living areas.
UC Davis may have to change the accommodation location and type. Should this be necessary, we will arrange alternative lodging. Please note that elevators, air conditioners, WiFi and other conveniences may not be available in all locations.
Accommodations for your program may include same-gender or mixed-gender housing and rooms may be shared with one or more students. You may request a roommate, and we will do our best to consider mutual requests when making housing assignments and/or sharing them with our program partners. However, please note that roommate requests cannot be guaranteed, as housing arrangements depend on availability and local accommodations.
Meals
Housing in Dublin includes small kitchenettes, but there are plenty of locations to explore around the university. The on-site team in Dublin and your instructor can also recommend grocery stores and local eateries. There will be three group meals provided during the program (a welcome dinner, a group dinner with a show, and a farewell dinner).
Excursions & Activities
Program activities and excursions are related to the course content to complement your learning experience. Activities may include:
- Bull Island UNESCO site
- The Botanical Conservatory
- Glendalough – Wicklow area
- The Natural History Museum
- The National Museum of Ireland
- Phoenix Park
- Airfield Estates
During your free time, we also recommend that you visit the Zoology Museum and the Viking Museum in Dublin.
Please note: These excursions and activities are tentative and subject to change.
Get to Know Your Destination
From Lonely Planet Ireland: “A small island with a memorable punch, Ireland's breathtaking landscapes and friendly, welcoming people leave visitors floored. You'll want to go back for more.”
Study Abroad Advisory of Student Risk
Participation in this UC Davis Study Abroad program requires travel to and extended living in a foreign location(s) abroad. UC Davis Study Abroad endeavors to reduce and mitigate risk wherever possible. However, the environments and risks associated with living in these locations are substantially different than those found during a regular course of study at UC Davis. All participants must download and review the following information prior to departure. Any questions should be directed to the program coordinator.
