Science of the Mind
Elisa Ciaramelli
Lead Instructor, University of Bologna
Department of Psychology
Dr. Elisa Ciaramelli is an Associate Professor of Neuropsychology and Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience at the Department of Psychology of the University of Bologna. Her main research interest is the episodic memory system, and how this system supports planning, decision making, and spontaneous cognition. She is also interested in the rehabilitation of memory in brain-injured populations. Passionate about cross-cultural exchange and internationalization, she is looking forward to teaching the Science of the Mind program!

Vincenzo Romei
Program Instructor, University of Bologna
Department of Psychology
Dr. Vincenzo Romei is an Associate Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at the Department of Psychology of the University of Bologna. His research is focused on the functional role of brain oscillations in human perception and cognition ranging from low level sensory processing to generative models of conscious experience. He privileges an “individual differences” approach together with a multi-method strategy combining careful psychophysics measures, electrophysiological recordings and neurostimulation interventions in the investigation of the brain-mind problem. He very much enjoys cross-cultural contamination and look forward to offering the students of the Science of the Mind program a scientifically enriching and exciting exchange experience.
Caterina Bertini
Program Instructor, University of Bologna
Department of Psychology
Dr. Caterina Bertini is an Associate Professor of Neuropsychological Rehabilitation at the Department of Psychology of the University of Bologna. Her research is mainly focused on the cognitive mechanisms and the neural basis underlying conscious and unconscious visual processing, both in neurologically intact individuals and in brain-damaged patients. Her interests also include the rehabilitation of visual field defects in brain-injuried populations. She is enthusiastic to discuss scientific views with students and look forward to welcoming the students of the Science of the Mind program.
